[Placeholder copy] Visual management is a simple idea with an intimidating vocabulary. Strip away the lean jargon and it means this: anyone should be able to walk into your factory and see, without asking, whether things are normal or abnormal.

[Placeholder copy] The classic tools are shadow boards, where a missing spanner is visible from across the cell; performance boards, where the shift's numbers are written where the shift can see them; and floor marking, where walkways and storage areas hold their shape because the line says so.
